The Royal Danish Embassy wants to recruit an energetic, results-oriented business and partnerships developer with in-depth experience from the energy sector and good understanding of the Chinese offshore wind power sector to take on a full-time position as a Senior Commercial Officer.
Your job will be to support Danish renewable power companies, in commercial and strategic development in China. This position is based in Beijing.
The Trade Council (TC) is fully integrated with the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. TC assists and promotes Danish companies’ interests in China. TC consists of 5 different industry teams with around 80 employees in 5 different locations in China. You will be a member of the Energy and Environment team (Green Team), which consists of 9 commercial officers and you will be reporting to the Beijing-based team leader of the Green Team. You will be working closely with colleagues in Shanghai, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Taipei. We offer a challenging work environment where you need to combine independent work with a high degree of team-work.
The Trade Council provides access to China for Danish companies by a range of services:
·Government and public affairs advisory
·Market analysis and market entry strategies
·Establishment of company set up in China
·Tax and legal counselling including IPR at basic non-attorney level
Public Affairs and Analysis
You will provide high-level research, consultancy services and business development services with focus on sustaining strong governmental and commercial relations between Denmark and China.
Your work will include:
·Facilitation on government to government relations between Chinese and Danish energy authorities
·Market research for energy market in general, electric power industry, renewable energy sector in specific
·Mapping of potential Chinese partners and initiate contact
·Facilitation on market entry strategy for Danish companies
Business Development Coordination
·Promote commercial cooperation between Danish and Chinese companies in the energy and environment sector
·Coordinate different stakeholder engagement activities.
·Follow up / Interaction / Communication with government agencies, authorities, consultants and others
·Provide support for relevant studies trips
·Translation tasks as needed
We are looking for a business development professional with excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to ensure timely, high quality deliverables and, preferably, with experience in the energy industry. A successful applicant would be able to fulfil a majority of the following requirements:
·Chinese citizen with excellent command of English and Mandarin – both oral and written. An advantage if studied / worked in an English speaking country
·Bachelor or Master’s Degree
·Structured mindset and excellent planning and coordination skills.
· “Go do it-type” – likes to work independently
·Extended knowledge of energy sector with focus on renewable energy industry
·Offshore wind background preferable – alternatively, electric power industry background
·International experience, possibly from studies or working abroad or working in an international company
·Industrial or governmental affairs experience is an advantage
·Creative, self-motivated, independent and self-starter by nature.
·Flexibility to travel in China and internationally, including to Denmark. Potential travel days 40-50 days/year
·Solid skills within MS Office and general good IT skills
·Great team player abilities and able to knowledge sharing
