China Environment News 中国环境报, February 18, 2013

The China Environmental Protection Foundation, in collaboration with the Beijing Normal Philanthropy Research Center and Tricon Global Restaurants, recently issued a “Report on the Situation and Development of Chinese University Students’ Environmental Protections Groups.” According to the report, these groups primarily focus on exploring nature, fighting pollution, promoting low-carbon living, environmental education for youths, and technological innovations in environmental protection. Their greatest challenges are a lack of financial resources, as well as a lack of professionalization and innovation. The report recommends that these groups can be strengthened through collaboration with environmental NGOs, businesses, and government agencies.
