Interview with Lei Chuang, a very interesting activist who insists on using methods available to the public in his advocacy in order to encourage more public activism. In this case, Lei began an intensive letter writing campaign to Premier Wen Jiabao, inviting him to lunch on World Hepatitis Day (July 28). In these letters, Lei explains that he would like to meet with Premier Wen, to thank him for his work in promoting social harmony and supporting those with hepatitis, and to encourage him to raise awareness of hepatitis and implement policies that more effectively eradicate discrimination against those with hepatitis. Lei, who has engaged in similar advocacy work in the past, is sharing information and photos relating to his campaign through his microblog account, as well as seeking media coverage.
