Didi Chuxing and the One Foundation have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to undertake the “daring to help” (敢扶) special charity project. Based in Beijing, Didi Chuxing is a transportation network company which provides vehicles and taxis for hire all over China via extremely popular smartphone applications. The Shimao Group donates 80 million yuan to the Forbidden City for cultural preservation project

An important Chinese real estate company has agreed to donate a large sum to the Palace Museum of Beijing’s Forbidden City. The Shimao Group signed the agreement with the Palace Museum on the 20th of July, stating that the company would officially donate 80 million yuan to the Museum towards a project for the protection of the Hall of Mental Cultivation. The hope is that the project will not only provide this important ancient building with a restoration, but also break a new path for the protection of other Chinese cultural relics and buildings. The Youchange Foundation provides support for Social Value Investment

The Youchange China Social Entrepreneur Foundation held the ninth meeting of its second council on July 8 in Beijing, during which a deliberation on the operating scheme and fiscal budget of the Social Value Investment Association (SVIA) was passed. The Alibaba Foundation, a charitable organization established by the Alibaba Group, hosted the Inaugural Xin Philanthropy Conference in Hangzhou on July 9th and 10th. The launching ceremony of Phoenix Philanthropy’s “Activist League” was held in Beijing on June 22. The Shanghai Bright Moon Glasses Company and the Children’s foundation of China signed a new strategic cooperation agreement on public welfare in Beijing on June 6th, marking China’s twenty first Eye-care Day. First foundation under “full trusteeship” appears in China

Li Peng, the director-general of the China Philanthropy Service Alliance (公益组织服务联盟), last month signed an agreement for full trusteeship with the Dream One Foundation (梦无缺基金会). According to the agreement, the China Philanthropy Service Alliance will take over all of the five basic components of the Dream One Foundation’s operations, including administration, communication, the informatization system, finance and the secretariat, and help the Dream One Foundation in its all-round daily operations. It has been revealed in a recent report by Netease that out of the 65.2 billion yuan that were donated following the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake, only 15.1 billion yuan, or 23.16% of the total, has been publicly accounted for. Clear information on the use of the remaining 50.1 billion yuan has never been made publicly available, and even the money’s sources cannot be verified. The opening ceremony of the “Jingdong/Dream One Shopping Festival” was held in Beijing on May the 10th. The activity is co-organised by Jingdong Mall (京东商城), a Chinese electronic commerce company better known as JD.com) and the Dream One Foundation (梦无缺基金会), and it aims to help the disabled in China. Following the recent earthquake in Ecuador, the Amity Foundation has worked with the Taiwan Cross-Straits Christian Association, the Andrew Charity Association and other charity organisations and philanthropists in Hong Kong in order to provide assistance. This is the first time that civil society groups from the Mainland and Taiwan cooperate in overseas assistance, marking a milestone in cross-strait civil society cooperation.
