Position: Senior Program Officer, National Park & Protected Area
Report to: Priority Project Coordinator, National Park & Protected Area
Location: Beijing
Function:
Support, developing and managing the forest conservation related projects of WWF China
Act as the supervisor of dedicated programme implementation partners to developing and maintaining good conservation partnership.
Provide technical assistance and updated information about related concepts, technologies, and trends.
Communicate with other organizations, companies and the government if requested, and act as an alternative contact person between WWF and the Chinese government and other organizations on related issues.
Main Responsibilities:
Support the designing, coordinating and implementation of WWF forest related conservation project.
Timely prepare and deliver programme documentations, including programme activity reports.
Help initiate and develop new proposals and assist the team with fund raising and project designing.
Develop programme contracts to partners/consultants following WWF’s regulation.
Responsible for information collection from programmes and offices and prepare yearly summary or communication materials.
Maintain communications and interactions among government agencies, research institutions, companies and other organizations, as well as WWF network.
Participate in conferences and workshops on behalf of the WWF team to communicate with other organizations, companies and government agencies by giving presentations, speeches and consultation on WWF’s work and strategy.
Update strategies / proposals / work-plans / monitoring plans relating to related Programme.
Develop and maintain strategic partnership for raising WWF’s profile and influence.
Other tasks allocated by Head of division or department.
Working Relationship:
Internal: Immediate line manager, team members, other WWF colleagues; and WWF Network colleagues.
External: Regular interactions with project partners, government officials, other NGOs, local communities, donors, etc.
Qualifications:
3-5 years’ work experience in responsible positions relevant to this position.
A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English.
Excellent inter-personal skills, and team-work skills including ability to internal communication, open mind strategic think, self-motivated and innovative and meet deadlines
Good current understanding of principles of related program.
