China’s State Council recently approved the “Announcement on the List of National Professional Qualifications”, published by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security; a total of 140 professions are included in the list, and for the first time social work is one of them.
In response to this piece of news, a teacher from Sichuan International Studies University named Xiaoyan has drawn a series of comics explaining what “social work” is, what it does, what methods are used to carry it out and the reasons why people choose to get involved in it.
